This role involves a mix of outbound and inbound calls, data entry, and collaboration with other team members and departments to provide expert insights and solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate prior authorizations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Handle inbound calls as needed, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries or concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Utilize computer skills for accurate and efficient data entry, ensuring that all relevant information is captured and recorded.
  • Gather and review patient billing and medical information, analyzing complex problems or scenarios and providing expert solutions to drive positive outcomes.
  • Operate in accordance with the guidelines of Federal Health Care Programs, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to provide insights and expertise, promoting a culture of teamwork and shared knowledge.
  • Work with carriers to ensure coverage of medication on behalf of patients, navigating the complexities of insurance coverage to achieve the best possible results.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 1 year of previous experience in Medical Benefits, with a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and the prior authorization process.
  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent, with further education in a related field being an asset.
  • The ability to multi-task and use dual monitors effectively, with strong computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
  • A great work attitude and a willingness to help others, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • Medical call center experience, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience working with prior authorizations, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
