OVERVIEW

Experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in web application development. Proficient in using modern web development technologies to design and build new products, develop modules for existing applications, and create intuitive browser-based user interfaces. Plays a key role across the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.

The Senior Software Engineer will:

• Develops, builds, debugs, codes and tests web enabled interfaces to DSS’ products

• Develops new features within existing products, develops new products, contributes to project work planning, performs product maintenance, produces enhancements and provides quick solutions to problems for the Product Line team(s)

• Mentors Junior software engineers and other team members ty sharing experience and knowledge

• Serves as development point of contact on one or more projects.

Other Duties:

• Adheres strictly to documentation requirements and deadlines

• Provides feedback to assigned development team(s) on a regular basis

• Contributes to project plans, performs product maintenance, produces product enhancements, and provides quick and effective solutions to problems which cannot be resolved by the product line team

• Is responsible for written and verbal communication with other team members, documentation of version notes, technical manuals, work activities and other work processes.

• Travels on an occasional basis up to 25% as directed by management and client need.

SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Qualifications

• 6+ years software development experience

• 3+ years web application development experience

• Works independently and has acted as a mento to Interns, Junio SW Engineers and SW Engineers.

• Detail-oriented approach to work. Translates business requirements into technical designs.

• Produced software in a structured maturity model environment and has demonstrated and verifiable software development skills, such as:

• HTML5

• JavaScript

• CSS

• XML

• AJAX

• AngularJS

• jQuery

• Java

• C#

• .NET (DotNet)

• Delphi

• SQL Server

Desired:

• Identifies, prioritizes, and executes tasks to meet critical project deadlines.

• Works effectively (maintaining accuracy and sensitivity) under tight timelines and schedules.

• Senses the importance or impact of issues and situations and takes appropriate actions.

• Possesses excellent listening skills and a commitment to communicating (verbally and in writing) in a clear, concise and timely manner at all times.

• Organizes time effectively while identifying barriers to progress, proposing solutions and setting priorities.

• Any experience designing and developing EHR software

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study

• Equivalent combinations of work experience andor education can be substituted

Desired:

• Master’s Degree in a related field of study

Certifications, Licenses:

• MCSD, Advanced Certification in Web and Mobile Application Development, or other targeted certifications.
