The position available is for a Part Time Receptionist responsible for managing the front office operations during weekday evenings from 4pm to 8pm, and also covering rotating weekends in two shifts: 8am to 2pm and 2pm to 8pm. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of the facility’s administrative operations. The receptionist acts as the initial point of contact for visitors, residents, family members, and staff, necessitating excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and strong organizational capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring energy, attention to detail, and a positive outlook to the role. Previous experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred, as this will enable the receptionist to perform duties efficiently and understand the nuances of a healthcare environment. The job requires the incumbent to be knowledgeable about office administrative practices, including filing, record keeping, typing, and managing communications, all while maintaining professionalism under pressure. In addition to routine receptionist tasks, the position involves some supervisory responsibilities including directing office operations, assisting with staff scheduling, and performance evaluations when applicable. The receptionist will also be entrusted with maintaining cordial relationships among diverse groups such as residents, visitors, healthcare personnel, and external agencies. They must possess leadership qualities and the ability to make independent and sound decisions, especially in emergency situations. Physically, the position demands mobility throughout the workday, the ability to handle mental and emotional stress associated with healthcare environments, and maintain calmness and patience in the face of difficult situations. The receptionist should have the capacity to relate effectively with elderly, ill, or emotionally upset individuals with tact and professionalism. Due to the nature of the facility, the receptionist may be exposed to infectious agents and must adhere to health and safety protocols strictly.
