MORTGAGE SUPPORT SPECIALIST II WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Mortgage Support Specialist II is responsible for analyzing condo project documentation by reviewing various documents like Homeowners Association (HOA) questionnaires, master insurance policies, appraisals, budgets, bylaws, and other legal documents to determine a project's eligibility for different types of financing (FHA, VA, Conventional). The Mortgage Support Specialist II is also responsible for ensuring files are complete with all applicable documentation required for a decision to be rendered prior to underwriting. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Analyze condo project docs.
- Assess if a condominium project meets the requirements of relevant agencies and lenders, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and others, considering factors like financial viability, occupancy rates, and potential risks.
- Obtain project approval for various condo and co-op projects.
- Communicate effectively with loan officers and other internal teams to request additional information or clarification.
- Ensure applications are processed in a timely manner, meeting established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Assist in troubleshooting application-related issues and escalate complex problems to the manager.
- Keep up to date with industry regulations and company policies regarding mortgage applications.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline the application intake process.
- Receives and uploads conditions/documents pertaining to loans.
- Initiates third party orders such as but not limited to appraisal, title, flood, insurance, credit, verifications of employment, etc.
- Ensure hazard and flood policies are acceptable and meet City National Bank’s requirements.
- Review and clear conditions within authority.
- Perform routine data entry and validation tasks.
- Other duties as/or assigned by management.
- H.S. Diploma
- Minimum 2 years of recent mortgage experience.
- Minimum 2 years of administrative/office clerk experience.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain high levels of performance, especially in stressful situations.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office and Loan Origination systems.
