The Head of Quality Engineering (QE) plays a strategic leadership role in defining and driving Zyte's overall quality vision across the entire product portfolio, with a strong emphasis on agile delivery methodologies, automation and technical leadership. This role oversees and mentors the QA team, sets high-level quality standards and ensures the seamless integration of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines. This position requires hands-on involvement with code and automation alongside management responsibilities, focusing on resource allocation, cross-team alignment, and continuous improvement of QA processes, tools and methodologies.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, focusing on resource allocation, cross-team alignment, and fostering professional growth
• Define implement and adjust Zyte's quality vision in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders
• Design and implement automated API testing and regression testing strategies for product releases
• Develop and manage test data solutions to support comprehensive and scalable automated testing
• Establish and refine QE best practices, metrics, and test case management methodologies
• Drive the evaluation, selection, and implementation of quality engineering technologies and tools
• Ensure seamless integration of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to align quality strategies with business goals

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
• Proven hands-on experience with test automation tooling (e.g. Selenium, Playwright)
• Strong development background and coding skills in a Tier1 programming language and experience implementing automated testing solutions
• Experience in implementing full stack automated testing solutions
• Deep knowledge of API testing tools and methodologies
• Experience with building and maintaining scalable test environments
• Experience with designing CI/CD workflows
• Demonstrated expertise in test data management
• Strong understanding of load and performance testing methodologies
• Experience with bug tracking and issue reporting systems (Jira, Linear, Sentry)
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional QE teams
• Excellent understanding of web technologies, APIs, and data extraction systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of security and vulnerability scanning tools
• Experience with static code analysis tools and methodologies
• Familiarity with mobile app testing tools and frameworks
• Experience with visual regression testing tools
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
