Transcriptionist II - Speech Engineering Why We Have This Role Manual Transcription is the food that fuels our ability to evaluate and improve our automated transcription capabilities. We need to generate manual transcription for current data projects and we accomplish this with Manual Transcriptionists using our own cultivated set of conventions. How You’ll Find Success
- 60 audio minutes of transcription minimum per day
- Identify gaps or problems in transcription conventions
- Build dictionary entries for jargon and technical terminology
- Facility with Text files and text encoding
- Work with Engineers to improve or adjust transcriptions for specific issues
How You’ll Grow
- Learn how Manual Transcription is used for Training Automated systems
- Innovate new or more efficient ways to capture verbatim voice information
- Build Technical skills with Cloud operations
Things You’ll Do
- Manage audio and text files in the Amazon Cloud
- Transcribe audio using transcription and text expander tools like Express Scribe and PhraseExpress
- Access and operate transcription in the AWS cloud, using Amazon S3 and workspaces
- Collaborate with Engineers to produce the most useful transcripts possible
What We’re Looking For On Your Resume
- 2-5 years of Transcription Experience, especially verbatim transcription
- Speed and accuracy in transcription
- Facility with Text Editing
- Spreadsheet skills
- Personal Time and Project management

- 4 highly experience transcriptionists with experience in many types of transcription
- We collaborate effectively using Slack
