As an Advisor for ETS and TRIO you will provide academic advising, mentoring, educational workshops, tutoring resources, and hands-on assistance in the college application process to enrolled ETS students in Douglas County high schools. ETS advisors work to identify qualified youth and encourage them to complete secondary school, and then enroll in and complete postsecondary school. The program is at the following high schools: Douglas, South Umpqua, Riddle, Roseburg, Sutherlin, and Glide; as well as six middle schools. This position will have a caseload of students at one or more high schools, as well as monthly responsibilities in the corresponding middle schools. YOU WANT TO WORK HERE! • Bachelor is in social science, education, human services, communication or similar field.
• Proven written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated sensitivity and experience working with students and/or individuals from diverse social, economic, academic, and cultural backgrounds.
• Experience developing and presenting courses, workshops, and/or trainings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school or college advising or teaching experience.
• First generation college student.
