100% Remote Full-time Open now

DESCRIPTION We're seeking an inventive and entrepreneurial Sr Design Technologist to join Amazon Devices - Emerging Products. Amazon Devices (Lab126) began with the Kindle e-reader, and now invents & develops products like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Echo smart speakers, Echo Show smart displays, the Amazon Glow projector, Echo Frames smart audio glasses, and the Amazon Astro robot. As a Sr. Design Technologist, you will own aspects of the invention, design, and development of new products across the software and hardware experience. You have a solid grounding in design thinking, and expertise in rapid prototyping across front-end and real-time creative programming tools. You are curious, first deeply understanding new technologies and interaction paradigms, then applying them to solve real customer pain points, inventing novel products and features. You sketch in 2D and 3D with code, prototyping quickly, exploring novel ideas and evaluating your designs through critique, along with formal and informal user studies. You work collaboratively with UX designers, product managers, software engineers, and applied scientists to find futuristic yet feasible designs. You'll be part of a team that embraces design thinking, rapid experimentation, building to learn, and isn't afraid to abandon good ideas in pursuit of great ones. If you're excited about working in small, nimble teams and thrive in the ambiguity of innovation we want to talk to you. Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product leadership on short and long term roadmapping, crafting a compelling vision for the future of the product portfolio.
  • Validate and iterate on your designs in collaboration with UX design and research.
  • Expertly navigate and articulate the potentials and constraints of various technologies, guiding design decisions with your technical acumen.
  • Collaborate on front-end development to ensure design integrity throughout the development lifecycle, bridging the gap between design and code.
  • Stay current with design trends and emerging technologies, and leverage these insights to drive innovation.
