Position Type: Instruction Date Posted: 8/20/2025 Location: District Office Closing Date: UNTIL FILLED TITLE: District-Based Teacher (Hybrid/Virtual) CLASSIFICATION: Certified REPORTS TO: District/School Administrator SUMMARY: The District-Based Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students across multiple campuses in alignment with district curriculum, policies, and goals. This role may be fully virtual (work from home) or hybrid, including both in-person and virtual instruction. The teacher will also support curriculum development and collaborate closely with district leadership, campus administrators, and school-based teachers to ensure student success. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Implementation of Instructional Program

  • Provide standards-aligned instruction in assigned subject areas across multiple campuses, using both virtual and in-person modalities.
  • Implement the district's required curriculum and contribute to curriculum development and refinement as directed.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly lesson plans, accessible for review upon request.
  • Develop and maintain substitute lesson plans that can be accessed virtually and updated quarterly or as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date gradebooks, including assignments, assessments, and projects, using the district's online instructional and communication systems.
  • Monitor and guide student achievement toward district-mandated competencies.
  • Follow all state and district testing guidelines, including administration in virtual and/or in-person formats.
  • Prepare and disseminate report cards according to district timelines.
  • Integrate technology effectively to deliver engaging, rigorous instruction in virtual settings.

B. Supervision of Students

  • Create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment for all students in both physical and virtual classrooms.
  • Implement the district's student behavior expectations and discipline protocols.
  • Ensure active monitoring of students during synchronous virtual instruction and in-person sessions.

C. School and District Operations

  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance in both virtual and inperson settings.
  • Utilize district-approved technology platforms for attendance, grading, and communication.
  • Share responsibility for the care and appropriate use of instructional materials and digital resources.

D. Collaboration and Professional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate regularly with campus administrators, site-based teachers, and district leadership to align instruction and student support.
  • Participate in district-wide professional learning communities and team meetings, both in-person and virtually.
  • Attend scheduled professional development sessions and implement new strategies and tools into instruction.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of curriculum and instructional practices.

E. Communication with Parents and Guardians

  • Maintain professional, responsive communication with parents/guardians regarding student academic progress and behavior.
  • Conduct parent conferences (virtual or in-person) as required by the district and campus assignment.
  • Participate in campus and district parent events as scheduled, which may include evenings.

F. Technology and Virtual Instruction

  • Use district-approved digital platforms (video conferencing, assessment tools) to deliver instruction and communicate with students, families, and staff.
  • Ensure accessibility of instructional materials and provide technical guidance to students as needed.
  • Maintain timely, professional communication through email, video conferencing, and other digital channels.

G. Professional Conduct

  • Demonstrate professional behavior and adherence to district policies at all times.
  • Support the mission, vision, and goals of the district by contributing to a culture of collaboration, equity, and high expectations.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: AZ Valid Teaching Certificate WORKING CONDITIONS: The working environment is a district-based setting with hybrid/virtual instruction. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine-month year, Certified Salary Schedule, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.
