Remote Data Analyst Opportunity with American Express - $35/Hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at American Express. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our 24/7 critical applications and databases, identifying potential issues, and implementing preventive measures to minimize production impact. This is a remote opportunity, offering a competitive salary of $35/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support 24/7 critical applications and databases, including Oracle and Postgres
• Perform preventive work to identify potential issues and take measures to avoid or minimize production impact
• Manage and maintain database systems, including Golden Gate replication, Oracle RAC, and Enterprise Manager
• Monitor and troubleshoot database issues using tools such as OEM, Splunk, and Unix shell scripting
• Identify automation opportunities and implement process improvements
• Perform performance tuning of databases and SQL statements

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in database administration, including Oracle and Postgres
• Experience with Golden Gate replication, Oracle RAC, and Enterprise Manager
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience in investigating performance, latency, capacity, and availability issues
• Experience with Unix shell scripting and automation tools such as Ansible and Python
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Couchbase, and MongoDB
• Kafka installation, configuration, and management experience
