Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Biology/Science Teacher will develop and implement a curriculum program consistent with District educational goals and objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Observing and monitoring student behavior in the classroom and other areas
• Establishing and maintaining a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere
• Assessing student needs and developing daily lesson plans
• Modifying instruction to meet the needs of each child
• Evaluating student progress and course curriculum
• Communicating with parents and students regarding student progress and instructional methods
• Collaborating with instructional teams and specialists to promote learning activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field
• Valid Arizona Secondary 6-12 Teaching Certificate with approved area
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Knowledge of State and Federal activities standards, developmental levels of school-age children, and District policies and procedures
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
