Job Summary:

The Elementary Teacher - English Learner will provide instruction and support to students who are eligible to receive English Learner services. The successful candidate will be responsible for making accommodations to the curriculum to ensure that content is accessible for English Learners, providing expertise to building principals and the Coordinator of English Learners, and collaborating with classroom teachers to support access to curriculum and instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support to English Learner students
• Make accommodations to the curriculum to ensure accessibility for English Learners
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support access to curriculum and instruction
• Provide expertise to building principals and the Coordinator of English Learners
• Maintain accurate records and reports on English Learner student progress
• Communicate with parents/guardians of English Learner students

Requirements:

• CT CSDE certification endorsed for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), PK-12 (111)
• Experience working with English Learner students preferred
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and superior organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, teachers, parents, and students
• Superior communication skills (oral and written)
