Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the English Language Arts Teacher will be responsible for implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting student progress, and creating a flexible and optimal learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all students. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
• Promote a safe and conducive classroom environment that fosters individualized and small group instruction
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to meet individual needs
• Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with students and parents
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior that promote a functional learning atmosphere

Requirements

• Eligibility for Maryland State Department of Education teaching certificate with proper endorsement
• Knowledge of subject matter and instructional methodologies
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated leadership and personal qualities necessary to work effectively with students, parents, and administrators
