Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and administer Physical Education classes consistent with school district goals and objectives
• Teach knowledge of, and develop skills and abilities in, physical fitness, rhythm and dance, coordination and agility, exercise, and sports
• Develop students' concepts in leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and social skills
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in physical educational activities
• Modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

• CT State Certification as a Physical Education Teacher
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment (Master's degree preferred)
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred
• Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
