About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated nurse educator to teach our Adult Med-Surg Nursing course, focusing on the needs of adult patients and their families in relation to health promotion and management of conditions that require acute and chronic care. As a clinical instructor, you will be responsible for planning and supervising clinical experiences, evaluating student performance, and providing feedback and remediation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service
• Plan and supervise clinical experiences for nursing students, providing direct supervision and evaluation of student performance
• Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance based on course objectives
• Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
• Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs
• Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College

Qualifications

• Master's (MSN) or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
• Unencumbered professional nursing license in Virginia or NLC Compact state
• At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required
• Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
