About the Role

• Provide recreation and leisure instruction to students in grades K-8 with multiple special education categories (ASD, EBD, and DCD)
• Plan and lead instruction for gym classes, focusing on building social-emotional skills and promoting academic success
• Develop and implement individualized educational plans, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral or academic problems
• Maintain accurate and complete student records, ensuring Due Process rights are maintained

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and licensed or able to obtain a license from the Minnesota (PELSB) in Autism Spectrum Disorders (B-12), Emotional Behavior Disorder (K-12), or Developmental Disabilities (K-12)
• Knowledge of applicable learning theories, teaching methods, and curriculum development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
