Job Description:

Harper is seeking a dynamic and technically adept Principal Solution Architect to support our sales initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation to engage with potential customers, understand their needs and craft tailored solutions using the Harper platform.

As a Principal Solution Architect, you will lead technical presentations, articulate Harper’s value propositions, uncover customer pain points and align them with Harper’s solutions. Your role will bridge the gap between technical requirements and business goals, ensuring a smooth transition from initial customer meetings through hand-off to delivery team who builds the pilot. You will work closely with Account Executives (AEs) to support pre-sales activities, qualifying opportunities and driving technical conversations to close deals.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to drive account success through account planning and opportunity prioritization/qualification, while taking ownership of the technical aspects (including but not limited to technical discovery, demos, proof of value, presentations, sizing and documentation)
  • Lead technical presentations and demos to showcase HarperDB’s features and capabilities across various use cases.
  • Identify, qualify, and support technical opportunities during pre-sales engagements in collaboration with Account Executives.
  • Gather comprehensive technical requirements to scope, design, document, and price tailored solutions.
  • Align customer needs with Harper’s technical offerings, uncovering pain points and presenting effective solutions.
  • Serve as the Harper subject matter expert throughout the sales cycle, from discovery to production deployment.
  • Provide technical guidance during pilot development for both customers and internal delivery engineers.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in customer-facing software pre-sales and/or architecture roles.
  • Proven experience architecting and developing distributed systems, including multi-cloud applications, clustered databases and real-time streaming data.
  • Strong Node.js development background, particularly in building full stack applications and APIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern database technologies, platforms and design principles.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective, scalable technical solutions.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and business concepts in a clear and compelling manner to technology and business leadership.
  • Experience with enterprise accounts.
  • Experience working in a fast paced startup environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Harper.

Salary Range: $175,000 - $225,000

  1. Recruiter Screen - 30 minute Zoom call to discuss the role and experience
  2. Hiring Manager Call - 30 minute Zoom call to get into the details of the role and experience
  3. Technical Interview - 30 minute Zoom call with a technical member of the team to assess product understanding and experience
  4. Take Home Assignment - Exercise to simulate a real client prep session
  5. Panel Interview - 60 minute Zoom call to discuss the Take Home Solution with a panel of employees
  6. Founder Interview - 30 minute Zoom call with our founders as a final round
