Our Finance team at Zensurance is a huge part of what keeps us running smoothly! They're essential for making sure we report accurately and on time to everyone from regulators to vendors and for payroll.
As our Accounting Clerk, you'll be a key player on this team, tackling tasks that support our financial reporting and analysis.
You'll report directly to our Director of Finance, working closely with our Finance Analysts and other clerks. You'll dive into the day-to-day of financial reporting and analysis, which includes everything from full-cycle month-end accounting to budgeting and AP/AR reporting. You'll also chip in on our weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and help us keep an eye on all our financial processes. You'll get to work with folks across Zensurance and even interact with external partners and clients.
Please note, this is a 1-year contract role.
Responsibilities:
- Keeping our trust and operating ledgers in tip-top shape, including handling journal entries (like accrued liabilities and expenses).
- Lending a hand with our monthly, weekly, and quarterly reporting.
- Helping out with all credit card reconciliations every week and month.
- Reviewing and assisting with accounts payable and receivable.
- Processing and reviewing all bank requisitions.
- Teaming up to maintain various reporting dashboards using Excel.
- Using SAP to review and maintain financial data and create reports.
- Keeping our balance sheet reconciliations spot-on.
- Monitoring cash needs and preparing monthly cash forecasts.
- Spotting reporting and financial trends and suggesting awesome improvements.
- Helping with procurement and issuing virtual credit cards.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, like a Staff Accountant or Accounting Clerk.
- You'll need to know your way around ASPE or IFRS.
- Intermediate to high-level Excel skills are a must.
- Bonus points if you've used SAP.
- It's a plus if you're familiar with GSuite and Salesforce.
- You're great at communicating clearly with different people.
- You're a team player and can work well with others.
- You've got a knack for prioritizing and organizing multiple tasks like a pro.
