Confluent runs and supports many of the largest data streaming deployments in the world on behalf of our customers. Real time Observability and monitoring capabilities are critical to ensure that our customers are successful in using our services at scale to build and run their mission critical applications. Customers need contextual metrics, notifications and alerting for their data streams and applications for a range of use cases including operational monitoring, capacity planning, billing, charge-back and several others. Additionally, Confluent operators need visibility into customer deployments to ensure the highest levels of reliability, scalability and product performance.

As a Senior Product Manager for Observability, you will play a crucial role in defining the product vision for Observability and will help define the product strategy, roadmap, product definition, execution and go-to-market support to launch new capabilities and drive adoption.

• Contribute to the product strategy: Align observability investments with Confluent’s long term vision to put a data streaming platform at the center of every organization.

• Help define the roadmap and drive execution: Plot a course with your engineering counterparts that will realize the strategy.

• Understand our users: Conduct interviews and analyze usage data to define personas, user journeys, and key jobs to be done.

• Work across teams: Create shared understanding and direction across engineering, product, business development, support, sales, and marketing teams within Confluent and externally with our partners.

• Shape the full product lifecycle: Drive product initiatives from conception through initial delivery, and ongoing iteration after launch.

• Close the loop: Define quantitative and qualitative targets, measure performance against them, share results with stakeholders, and incorporate those learnings into the next development cycle.

• Manage complexity: Deliver value while handling the surprises and challenges of a quickly evolving product, ambitious partnership targets, and a rapidly growing organization.

• 4+ years of product management experience

• Experience in being a product manager for a cloud based service (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) that has seen adoption at scale by customers.

• Experience building, writing and defending a clear product roadmap and backlog backed by user stories and customer research.

• Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative and consensus-driven environment

• Ability to build relationships with co-workers and customers located around the world.

• Demonstrated ability to drive business outcomes through product changes

• Experience building and supporting observability related cloud products or features

• Background in data streaming, data lake or data warehouse platforms.

• Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud services
