The Staff Pad is excited to partner with a mission-driven, nonprofit healthcare organization in Helena, Montana, to hire an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) . This is an opportunity to join a compassionate and supportive oncology team that provides direct and indirect patient care with a holistic, family-centered approach. What You’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Provide emotional and clinical support to patients navigating cancer treatment, including pain management, chemotherapy, end-of-life care, and body image challenges.
- Safely administer chemotherapy while adhering to safety protocols and drug-specific procedures.
- Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, safe handling practices, and treatment expectations.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team about patient condition changes, diagnostic results, and care plans.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to newer or less experienced nursing staff.
- Respond promptly and effectively to changing patient conditions and emergent situations.
- Float to other departments as needed, with supervision.
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the state of Montana.
- BLS certification required.
- Oncology Nursing Certification preferred.
- Completion of a Chemotherapy/Oncology course within 6–12 months of hire (must be maintained annually).
- Demonstrated emotional maturity and communication skills to navigate complex, sensitive patient scenarios.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and maintain flexibility in scheduling and assignments.
