You will work directly with design, product, and technical leaders to build, test, deliver, and maintain new user interfaces and interactions that improve the shopping experience. Key job responsibilities As an Front-End Engineer on the Shopping Design Tech team, you will: Deliver features and improvements to major portions of the codebase, working closely with stakeholders and peers to understand customer problems and ensure you build the right front-end solutionsTackle difficult problems with visible risks, bringing clarity and identifying simple front-end solutions while understanding customer impactDesign software solutions to enable new features or improve existing ones, aligning with your team's long-term architectural strategyDemonstrate operational excellence in all of your work, actively participating in operational support and ensuring root causes of issues are identified and resolvedEarn trust with design, product, and engineering partners, demonstrating empathy, candor, and backbone through all levels of communication A day in the life Designing and implementing innovative shopping features and experiences that delight customersCollaborating closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to turn concepts into high-quality, scalable codeWorking across the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, UX review, code implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenanceUtilizing common UI design patterns to decrease friction between the customer and softwareBalancing speed of execution with architectural requirements and user experience considerationsUtilizing the team's prototyping and experimentation tools to rapidly validate ideas and gather customer feedbackContinuously learning and expanding your skills to keep pace with evolving technologies and customer needs About the team The mission of the Shopping Design Tech team is to build magical shopping experiences that customers use daily and love. We are part of a group that includes product and design leaders who design the Amazon shopping experience for customers. We build the features that make it easy for customers to discover, evaluate, and transact on Amazon. We enable Amazon builders with design patterns, systems, tools, and best practices to design a cohesive and delightful shopping CX. Your stakeholders include design, product, and engineering leadership, all of whom rely on your expertise and guidance to deliver exceptional shopping experiences for Amazon customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
