The Community You Will Join The UI Foundation team is responsible for empowering designers and engineers to create industry-leading, innovative, and inclusive user experiences (UX) for Airbnb’s Guests and Hosts. We offer capabilities and domain expertise in design systems, notably Airbnb's Design Language System (DLS), motion innovation such as Lottie, digital accessibility, and tooling to accelerate UI development. As a Central, Cross-platform Team Consisting Of Android, IOS, And Web Engineers, We Partner Closely With Product Engineering, Design, And Product Teams. We Are Involved In All Stages Of The Product Development Lifecycle, From Conceptualization To Launch. Check Out Some Of The Team’s Recent Contributions • Rethinking Text Resizing on Web • Animations: Bringing the Host Passport to Life on iOS • Making Airbnb’s Android app more accessible The Difference You Will Make • Drive foundational investments across DLS, Digital Accessibility, and UI Tooling on the UI Foundation team. • Partner closely with Design, Product, and Marketing partners to enable their creative ambitions; develop generalized, flexible solutions to facilitate in making the design concepts a reality. • Strengthen the relationship with Product Engineering teams that rely on the technologies and expertise provided by the team. • Elevate modern frontend web skills and practices for pushing the envelope on animations, interactions, and accessible designs. • Identify opportunities and solutions to simplify the frontend web stack and UI architecture, including addressing technical debt in collaboration with the greater Airbnb web community. • Work with industry partners (e.g. Google, Apple) and web standards communities to advance new UI capabilities. Your Expertise • 10+ years of industry and web development experience. • Strong expertise building and maintaining high-performance, accessible, and scalable frontend web experiences. • Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Preact, Angular, Next, Vue, or Meteor. • Fluency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript. • Preferred experience with design systems, digital accessibility, and motion/interaction. • Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration with designers and client (Android, iOS, web) engineers. Your Location: Remote- USA This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
