Christina School District is offering a hiring and retention bonus of $3,000, paid in two installments - $1500 upon hire and $1500 after six months. The candidate must be fully certified in their content area. These payments are subject to mandatory withholdings. Qualifications: Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Delaware Completion of Master?s degree program in the area of Speech and Language Pathology ASHA (American Speech/Language & Hearing Association) certified or working toward ASHA certification during Clinical Fellowship Year Knowledge of American Sign Language or willingness to learn Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday. Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance). Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students. Salary: Teacher salary schedule based on experience and degree. Responsibilities: Participate in the planning and provision of speech and language therapy for children that includes assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language development, articulation, voice, oral motor, receptive and expressive language. Perform appropriate diagnostic and evaluative testing. Present well-constructed, thorough, reports related to completed assessments and observations of students. Responsible for the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related documentation for speech and language services. Maintain adequate records of treatment and data of the IEP objectives for the students being served. Meet with parents and advise them of their child?s areas of need and progress of development. Make recommendations for the level and frequency of services as related to the areas of need in the IEP. Work with and assist other team members with providing necessary carry-over of strategies and skills into all other areas of the students learning opportunities. Prepares reports and information as prescribed by DSD, Christina School District, the Department of Education and the Cost Recovery office. Maintains a professional relationship, working cooperatively with all school personnel. Pursues opportunities for professional growth.
