Duration: 6-12 Month Contract FULL REMOTE: (candidate might be asked to travel to the Newark, NJ campus once every couple months, if need be). Job Description: We are seeking an experienced AFS Administrator to join our team. The AFS Administrator will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of our Andrew File System. This role primarily focuses on AFS server-side tasks, including deploying and upgrading file services, database server updates, and the migration from AFS to AuriStor. Key Responsibilities: • Deploying and Upgrading File Services: • Deploy, configure, and maintain AFS file services to ensure optimal performance and availability. • Plan and execute AFS software upgrades, patches, and security updates. • Monitor and troubleshoot any issues related to AFS file services. • Database Servers Updates: • Administer AFS database servers and ensure their reliability and performance. • Perform routine updates, backups, and maintenance of AFS database servers. • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure database server security. • Migrating from AFS to AuriStor: • Plan and execute the migration from AFS to AuriStor, ensuring a seamless transition. • Assess the compatibility of existing systems and data with AuriStor and make necessary adjustments. • Document the migration process and provide training or support to end-users. • Performance Optimization: • Monitor AFS file system performance and implement improvements where necessary. • Analyze system logs and metrics to identify and resolve issues affecting performance. • Security and Compliance: • Maintain the security of AFS file systems, ensuring data integrity and access control. • Stay up-to-date with security best practices and implement them as needed. • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations. • Documentation: • Maintain detailed documentation of AFS configurations, procedures, and policies. • Create and update documentation for AuriStor migration plans and procedures.
