Entry-Level Jr. Investment Analyst / Trader Location: New York City Area (Connecticut) – Currently remote with possible hybrid transition in Q2 2025. About Us A small, multi-strategy hedge fund is looking for a motivated Entry-Level Investment Analyst / Trader to join a close-knit team of seven. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual passionate about finance, investment analysis, and trading, especially college students or recent graduates eager to grow in the finance industry. A more seasoned professional, looking to move into the investment space, could also be a good fit. Who We’re Looking For We’re specifically hiring for an entry-level role. Position Overview As a Junior Investment Analyst / Trader, you’ll report directly to the Portfolio Manager and gain hands-on experience working with both the investment analysis and trading teams. This role requires a flexible approach, as you'll assist with a variety of tasks that support our strategic goals. Key Responsibilities • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to generate insights on investments in both public and private markets. • Review, model, and analyze valuation data; compile detailed market reports on investment opportunities. • Gather and process alternative data for analysis. Occasional travel may be required. • Analyze economic and market trends, financial statements, and other indicators to support investment strategy development. • Collaborate with team members and participate in due diligence to make well-informed trading recommendations. • Screen new investment opportunities, monitor existing investments, and stay updated on market news and trends. Qualifications • Passionate about financial markets and investment strategies. • Excellent analytical and communication skills. • Creative problem-solver with the ability to develop non-consensus investment theses. • Strong interest in idea generation and developing unique investment perspectives. • Preferred Qualifications: • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CFOA (Certified Futures and Options Analyst) certification, -OR- • Completed TrendUp Now Program Level 3 and SRP Track. • A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar quantitative field. Exceptional candidates with alternative backgrounds may also be considered. • 2+ years of relevant finance or investment experience for full-time applicants. Compensation The base salary range is competitive and varies based on skills and experience. Additional compensation may include overtime, bonuses, and benefits.
