About the position The Senior Software Engineer will perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of software applications, focusing on both front-end and back-end programming. This role involves working with stakeholders to define system scope and objectives, establishing project standards, and delivering large systems for extensive user bases. The engineer will also provide technical support for critical applications, mentor junior engineers, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance software solutions. Responsibilities • Perform technical detail design, coding, and testing of applications. , • Serve as a subject matter expert for customer and internal discussions related to software systems. , • Develop and analyze interface design documentation. , • Comply with hardware and software systems standards and procedures. , • Deliver large systems for tens of thousands of users. , • Perform software analysis, including requirements and use case development. , • Implement and document source code to design specifications. , • Perform software testing, including developing and running automated unit tests. , • Compile, assess, and report data results from software testing and analysis. , • Develop software solutions for enterprise environments and other technologies. , • Analyze and implement functional and non-functional requirements. , • Perform operations & maintenance of existing systems. , • Identify areas for improvement and streamlining. , • Assist in the estimation of development of application features. , • Provide direct technical support for high-level, high-visibility trouble calls. , • Work with cross-functional teams to develop highly reliable software. , • Provide recommendations to infuse new technology. , • Mentor junior software engineers. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or 4 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. , • 5 years of experience with software development, coding, software architecture/design, and user requirements definition. , • Ability to communicate technical requirements to all levels of expertise. , • Proficient in establishing and maintaining good working relationships. , • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC). , • Proficient with integrating complex and/or existing systems. , • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, C, Python). , • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. , • Knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure). , • Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL). , • Fundamental knowledge of software engineering best practices and agile methodologies. , • Knowledge of test-first practices including TDD and BDD. , • Strong experience with CI/CD processes and tools. Nice-to-haves • Experience with open-source libraries and systems. , • Familiarity with deployment and continuous delivery processes.
