Job Overview We are in search of a skilled Senior IT Project Manager with expertise in cloud application migration to spearhead the seamless transition of applications for a prominent governmental agency. In this pivotal role, you will utilize your exceptional project management acumen, extensive knowledge of cloud computing technologies, and relevant IT project management certifications to... guarantee a successful migration process. Your proficiency in Agile Project Management will be crucial for steering our multidisciplinary teams through this evolving landscape. Key Responsibilities • Project Planning: Collaborate with key stakeholders to formulate comprehensive project plans that detail scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring the successful migration of applications to the cloud. • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate effective communication and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including business leaders, technical teams, and vendors, to align project goals and gather requirements throughout the migration journey. • Risk Management: Proactively recognize potential risks and devise strategies for their mitigation, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruptions. • Cloud Technology Expertise: Exhibit a profound understanding of cloud computing platforms (such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and their services, selecting optimal solutions for application migration. • Team Leadership: Inspire and guide cross-functional teams, comprising developers, system administrators, and quality assurance specialists, to effectively carry out application migration projects, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment. • Project Monitoring and Control: Track project progress, milestones, and performance against set metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary to adhere to project timelines. • Quality Assurance: Ensure all migrated applications comply with established quality standards, security protocols, data privacy regulations, and industry-specific requirements. • Documentation and Reporting: Develop and sustain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-migration analyses, to facilitate organizational knowledge sharing. • Advisory Role: Offer guidance and recommendations based on your expertise, supporting stakeholders in informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. • Earned Value Management (EVM): Employ EVM methodology for effective project oversight, calculating variances, performance indicators (CPI and SPI), and monitoring overall project health within specified tolerances. Required Qualifications • Project Management Certification: A recognized certification in project management (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner) is essential, indicating your foundational knowledge of project management methodologies. • IT Expertise: A robust background in cloud computing technologies and platforms, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, along with familiarity with cloud migration methodologies and best practices. • Experience: Documented experience in managing cloud application migration projects, showcasing a successful history of leading teams and engaging multiple project stakeholders, preferably within governmental environments. • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking to identify challenges, analyze dependencies, and propose innovative solutions during migration. • Time Management: Outstanding organizational skills, with the capability to prioritize tasks, manage resources efficiently, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Cloud Certifications: Additional cloud-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect) are desirable. • Agile Project Management: Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is highly advantageous for managing intricate cloud migration projects employing iterative development approaches. • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10 years of project management experience, emphasizing Agile methodologies and conducting assessments in complex IT environments. • Data Analysis Skills: Competence in analyzing complex data, identifying trends, and generating actionable insights and recommendations. • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation capabilities to effectively communicate project status and insights to executive and senior-level leadership. • Additional Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or equivalent are highly valued.
