With a wide variety of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers.This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Tool Die Machinist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.· Read, understand and follow work orders, blueprints & engineering drawings.· Measure and verify setups and parts by measuring positions, first-run parts and sample work pieces utilizing comparator, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators and other measuring equipment needed.· Manual machining turn, bore, mill within ±.001”, ID, OD, and Surface Grind: Up to 0.000050”· Maintain a clean and safe work environment, good personal safety record, report unsafe acts, conditions or equipment, keep current with safety policies.· Select tools & select/create work holding for optimum productivity.· Full comprehension of geometric tolerancing· Ability to operate CNC machinery Lathes, Mills, Grinders (Does not include programming).· Able to complete sub-assemblies with direct supervision· Report time and material in manufacturing systems.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:· High School Diploma/GED or higher.· Minimum five (5) years of machinist experience in private, public, government or military environment and/or Technical School.· Manual Machining and CNC ExperienceAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:· Strong conceptual skills.· Ten (10) years of related experience.· Functional and technical skills.Pay & Benefits:· The starting rate of pay for this position is $31.04. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
