Position SummaryThe UNM-Valencia Campus is currently accepting applications for Student Success Specialist, Sr.The successful applicant will have experience supporting student success through wraparound services to include, but not limited to: academic advisement/success coaching of prospective transfer students, financial aid and scholarship support, facilitating academic success workshops, tutoring and resource referral, early alert referrals and specialized outreach for targeted student groups. The Student Success Specialist Sr. will act as student advocate and provide day-to-day problem solving as necessary on student needs and issues in conjunction with staff and faculty. The applicant works as part of a dynamic team to implement new strategies and procedures specific to UNM-Valencia. interacting with internal and external constituencies. This person will also track students' academic and overall progress in the programs and services provided to the student, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and University rules, regulations, and policies.Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.
