Steel Detailer - In Office or Remote
About the position
The Steel Detailer position at American Steel Detailing involves working closely with project managers, checkers, and other team members to produce detailed shop and erection drawings. This role requires the interpretation of design documents provided by structural engineers and architects to ensure accurate and efficient detailing of steel structures. The Steel Detailer will utilize SDS/2 software to create 3D models and shop/erection drawings that will be used by steel fabricators and erectors in the field. This position can be performed in-office or remotely, providing flexibility for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in detailing and drafting, with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is essential. The role demands strong organizational skills, punctuality, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members. Experience in reading, drafting, and dimensioning drawings is crucial, as is familiarity with SDS2 or similar modeling/drafting software. Requirements

- Typing speed of 30+ WPM and strong computer skills. ,
- Experience with SDS2 or other modeling/drafting software. ,
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. ,
- Experience with reading, drafting, and dimensioning drawings.
