In this remote, part-time position, you will lead students through an engaging STEAM-focused (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum, inspiring them through hands-on activities that promote academic success, social-emotional development, and healthy lifestyle choices.Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a STEAM curriculum that resonates with students’ interests and backgrounds.
- Facilitate activities that cultivate a welcoming and organized learning atmosphere, encouraging student initiative and exploration.
- Develop meaningful relationships with students, providing guidance and support that fosters both personal and academic advancement.
- Establish and uphold clear expectations for student behavior and learning to maintain a structured and respectful environment.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of attendance and maintain open channels of communication regarding student progress and program objectives.
- Participate in professional development through required training and meetings, sharing insights and reflections on program delivery.
- Prepare thoroughly with lesson plans and necessary materials, including substitute plans when needed.
- State of Maine Teaching Certification or relevant experience.
- BA/BS in education or a related field preferred.
- Experience teaching elementary-aged children.
- A strong passion for engaging and inspiring students in their learning journeys.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, particularly those in need of additional academic support.
- Familiarity with digital tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Google Drive, and Zoom.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
