Crisis Center LPN/RN Nurse (Nights)
Job OverviewJoin our dedicated team at Compass Health Network as a Nurse LPN/RN at our Crisis Center Stabilization Center, where you will play a crucial role in delivering both direct and indirect patient care within a psychiatric framework. Your expertise will contribute to upholding the standards of Professional Nursing Practice while working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care for individuals experiencing behavioral crises.Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care, including health and pain assessments, vital sign monitoring, dressing applications, and general daily care for clients presenting at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Execute all medication administration duties, encompassing medication passes, injections, and overseeing self-administration of medications.
- Manage medication records, including the Medication Administration Record (MAR), and oversee the counting of controlled substances.
- Educate patients regarding their physical health and medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff, residents, families, physicians, and pharmacists to coordinate care.
- Document and report any observable changes in patients’ behavior, attitude, and physical condition.
- Support staff with various diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Train new employees on procedures and protocols.
- Participate in team and leadership meetings as required.
- Provide direct patient care to adults, including those who may be verbally or physically agitated.
- Be prepared for mandatory overtime, if required.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills.
- Strong cognitive, organizational, and emotional abilities to effectively manage multiple stressors and challenging situations.
- Proficiency in conducting health assessments and medication administration.
- Capacity to provide educational support regarding physical health and treatments.
- An Associate’s degree in nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric experience is required, with experience in a hospital or acute care setting being advantageous.
- Valid LPN or RN license in Missouri is mandatory.
