RN Educator - CNA/Nursing Ancillary Program Instructor

Job title: RN Educator - CNA/Nursing Ancillary Program Instructor in Roanoke, VA at Carilion Clinic Company: Carilion Clinic Job description: How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:This position will provide education support as a CNA clinical instructor with Burton Center for Arts and Technology and as an instructor for the Nursing Ancillary Academy for Carilion Clinic.

• As a CNA Instructor, you will be listed with the Virginia Board of Nursing as an Instructor for Carilion's Nurse Aide program at Roanoke County School's Burton Center for Arts & Technology. You are also a recognized teacher on staff at Roanoke County Schools.
• You will teach high school students the necessary skills and knowledge to sit for the certified nurse aide exam and become qualified to work as a CNA in long-term or acute-care settings.
• In addition to classroom and clinical teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will support Burton's CNA Coordinator, who is responsible for the Virginia Board of Nursing's annual course review, skills lab and equipment maintenance, monitoring and documentation of the VDOE CTE (Virginia Department of Education Career and Technical Education) competencies, and coordination with Virginia Western Community College requirements for dual-enrolled students.
• The Carilion Clinic Nursing Ancillary Academy provides new-hire orientation education for Patient Care Techs and other ancillary roles.
• This position will serve in both a classroom and a clinical setting.

**If selected for an interview, you will provide a writing sample and perform a teaching demonstration.What We Require:Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.Experience: Minimum 3 years of RN experience required.Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Active RN license with the Virginia Board of Nursing is required.Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Demonstrated analytical thinking and interpersonal skills. Must work well in a team environment and have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Lawson knowledge preferred.
