- Working independently or with engineers and lab personnel on process, product, and systems development, including equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Ensuring equipment is in optimal working condition by maintaining the preventative maintenance program, providing first-line troubleshooting support, and arranging for necessary repairs.
- Assisting in creating and updating production and quality procedures and maintaining accurate documentation in multiple electronic systems.
- Performing all production tasks and training employees on all work centers in the department including laser welding, nickel plating, grinding, and milling.
- Demonstrating safe work behaviors to avoid injury to self and others.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and problem solving to drive growth and increase efficiency.
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed prior to start)
- One (1) or more years of experience in a manufacturing production role
- Must be interested and available to work weekends, overtime, off-shift hours, and needed
- Must be able to reliably commute to Menomonie, WI or plan to relocate prior to start (This position is in Menomonie, WI, 54751)
- Possess a certificate or degree in Machine Tool, Laser, or Welding Fabrication
- Five (5) or more years of laser welding, nickel plating, grinding, and milling experience
- Experience in laser welding with very tight tolerances
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills with a demonstrated understanding of machine tooling principles
- Proficient in reading blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Experience performing stringent visual inspections
- Skilled in using computer systems, including Lotus Notes, Wonderware, iMES, and Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, pivot tables, charts, and graphs)
- Willingness to work different shifts and overtime as necessary
- Ability to work in a standard manufacturing environment, including exposure to nickel plating processes, confined spaces, and non-confined pits below plating tanks
- Ability to complete work without direct supervision and work well within a team environment
- Ability and skills to effectively train new and existing employees
