Social Media Summer Intern Location: Remote or Houston-based (optional in-person studio access) Company: Kingbird Media Position Type: Internship (Part-Time, Summer) Duration: 8–12 weeks About Kingbird Media Kingbird Media is a creative production company specializing in storytelling through film, photography, and branded content. We work with small businesses, nonprofits, and national brands to create compelling visual media that connects. Our downtown studio is a hub for video shoots, headshots, and podcast recording. Position Summary We’re looking for a dynamic, creative, and organized Social Media Intern to join our team for the summer. This is an ideal opportunity for a college student studying marketing, communications, media, or a related field who is excited about visual storytelling, social media trends, and creative branding.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing content calendars for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Create and schedule engaging posts that align with our brand voice and style
- Support behind-the-scenes content capture during photo/video shoots
- Help grow our social media presence through engagement, hashtags, and trend research
- Track analytics and report on performance metrics weekly
- Brainstorm new campaign ideas and social series (e.g., “Meet the Team,” client features, tips, etc.)
- Collaborate with our co-founders and creative team to support broader marketing goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Current college student majoring in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field
- Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other design tools
- Experience with Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, and short-form video editing a plus
- Strong writing skills and eye for visual storytelling
- Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Interest in photography, video production, and/or branding preferred
