Wireless Systems Validation Engineer

Description APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and evaluate radio performance for phones, tablets, computers and home audio devices. Perform parametric evaluation of radio frequency performance of products such as cellular phones, tablets devices, computers and home audio devices. Conduct root cause analysis rf parametric test failures and sub-optimal test results. Design and drive implementation of verification plans for radio frequency system for various wireless technologies including WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB, GPS and Cellular. Provide integration recommendations towards optimizing the overall radio system performance of the wireless device. International Travel required 20%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,872 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience and/or education must include:
- Radio Frequency (RF) test equipment: spectrum analyzers
- Radio component characteristics and behavior
- RF link budget, Rx gain line-up
- IEEE 802.11, WCDMA, GSM, CDMA, and/or LTE physical layer properties
- RF/Microwave Simulation tools such as ADS or HFSS
- Antenna theory and design trade-off
