Tutor (Independent Contractor, Part-Time, Remote)

ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love, including by building Dojo Tutor. Dojo Tutor matches kids with caring, experienced teachers for 1:1 online tutoring sessions that boost their skills and confidence. The platform is operating at a large scale, and we regularly hear from families and tutors about how Dojo Tutor is changing kids’ and tutors’ lives for the better. But we’re just getting started and have ambitious goals for growing Dojo Tutor’s reach and impact this year and beyond. What you’ll do: As an independent tutor with Dojo Tutor, you will tutor pre-K through 9th grade students in 1:1 Zoom sessions to help them strengthen their math and/or reading skills. Dojo Tutor provides a supportive, flexible platform where you can focus on teaching, while we handle everything else, including finding and matching you with students, scheduling, payments, and all things administrative. This is a part-time independent contractor role with pay equivalent to $30/hour ($15 per 25-minute session). Sessions are conducted remotely, and tutors work independently and set their own hours but are expected to provide services on a consistent weekly schedule with at least 5 hours available per week. Expected Tutor Services to be Provided:

• Conduct engaging, personalized math and/or reading tutoring sessions for pre-K-through-9th-grade students online via Zoom.
• Help students build confidence and develop a love for learning.
• Assist new parents in booking a subscription at the end of their class.
• Provide feedback on student progress.
• Embrace feedback from clients and participate in opportunities to continually improve as a tutor.

Requirements:

• Experience teaching or tutoring in the US in math and/or reading
• A passion for working 1:1 with students and personalizing instruction to meet their needs.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to build rapport with students and families.
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free space for remote tutoring sessions.
