Create a safe, enjoyable and educational environment while working closely with the community, promote active lifestyles, and encourage participation in recreational activities. Organize, lead, and instruct recreational programs and activities for participants of various ages. Develop choreography and routines and incorporates music. Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by enforcing rules, monitoring activities, and responding to emergencies as necessary. Provide instruction and guidance to participants of various skill levels, adapting programs to meet the needs of individuals and groups. Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used properly and safely. Promote participation in recreational activities through community outreach, marketing, and engagement efforts. Prepare reports, maintain records, and complete necessary forms related to program attendance, incidents, and other relevant data. Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development. Collaborate with other staff members, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program offerings and improve service delivery. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level. Skills and Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must obtain First Aid; CPR/AED, within 30 days of hire date. When assigned to Certified or Group Fitness: National Fitness Certification or valid certification for the specific class(es) assigned, within 30 days of hire date. Six (6) months of formal fitness or classroom teaching, or related experience; or, an equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Provide courteous and efficient service to the public and in responding to inquiries, complaints and requests in a fair, tactful and firm manner. Able to develop fitness routines that incorporates music, tempo, cueing techniques, rhythm, and choreography Able to develop and implement fitness classes appropriate to the class description and ability level of participants. Supervise multiple games and activities simultaneously. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Operate basic computer programs. Able to write reports and fill out forms.
