Furniture Sales Specialist

About the position The Furniture Sales Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of furniture products, services, and payment options. This role focuses on driving sales for both indoor and outdoor furniture, fostering customer relationships, and ensuring the operational and merchandising standards of the furniture department are met. The specialist may also perform general store duties as needed. Responsibilities ? Provide superior customer service by listening to customer needs and offering product, service, and payment option information. , ? Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product details and competing product comparisons to assist customers in making informed decisions. , ? Utilize cross-selling techniques to enhance sales opportunities. , ? Assist with basic clienteling activities to build customer relationships. , ? Maintain accurate records related to furniture inventory, price holds, special orders, and customer pick-ups. , ? Participate in the warehousing and organization of furniture stock and assist with furniture freight processing as needed. , ? Identify and communicate furniture display needs and assemble display items as required. , ? Ensure proper completion of furniture transaction processes and operate point-of-sale systems efficiently. , ? Maintain merchandising and presentation standards of the department and perform merchandise recovery functions as needed. , ? Ensure the store's interior and exterior appearance meets company standards, including light maintenance and cleaning duties. , ? Perform other tasks as assigned by Furniture and Store Leadership, including general store duties and safety-related tasks. Requirements ? Must be at least 18 years of age. , ? Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required. , ? Prior retail sales experience and knowledge of sales techniques preferred. , ? Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays required. , ? Previous experience operating a point-of-sale system preferred. , ? Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds required. , ? Basic English literacy and math skills required. Nice-to-haves ? Knowledge of furniture products and services. , ?
