Entry Level Computer Technician

General Summary: DPC is looking for technicians that are interested in working in a fast-paced environment and consider their work A+. This person should be a good communicator and a person who can manage well when the client is in a pickle and really needs strong guidance. This person should be capable of handling all issues at a computer level. Most importantly, this person should be eager to learn while following prescribed procedures. Position Responsibilities: ? Provide Level 1 support ? DAILY time entry accounting for at least 8 hours ? Check Backup Logs and update the tickets or reports ? Check Anti-virus ? Onboard Managed Service Clients ? Stage New Computers ? Assist Sr. Technicians on Larger projects Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ? Capable of installing and troubleshooting all basic computer components (e.g. Power supplies, NICs, Video Cards, Motherboards, CPUs) ? Capable of manually installing network printers ? Capable of terminating jacks and punch downs ? Experience required with Windows desktop operating systems ? Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity ? Understanding of the relationship between switches, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network ? Working Knowledge of Wireless Technologies, Capable of installing and troubleshooting WAPs ? 2 year College Degree or equivalent (4-year degree preferred) Credentials and Experience: ? New hire with no certifications ? Eager to learn ?
