VEMC Production Shop Welder

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide. Job Purpose Applies basic skills and appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabrication of metal or other weldable materials to assemble structures.

Responsibilities

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. • Set up equipment and weld metal parts together, using GMAW, SMAW, GTAW & SAW processes. • Use equipment such as cutting torch or carbon air torch to unite different parts of steel structure. • Must be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of professional and technical associations. • Practices good housekeeping skills and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies. • Understand and follow safety policies and procedures. • Perform other duties and projects as assigned; • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately .

Qualifications

Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered. • Minimum of five years of experience in welding fabrication of structural steel and verified structural weld test and/or demonstrated ability to perform basic skills according to testing requirements. Additional Qualifications • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status; • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and to respond to inquiries; • Ability to understand and comply with MRC guidelines and expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
