Senior Business Intelligence Engineer - Medicaid Quality

About the position The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer plays a crucial role in solving complex business problems by leveraging data from various internal and external sources. This position focuses on supporting Medicaid HEDIS reporting and quality initiatives through advanced data management, analysis, and visualization techniques. The engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining robust data processes, creating complex SQL queries, and designing interactive dashboards to present insights that drive quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities • Solve complex business problems using data from internal and external sources. , • Support Medicaid HEDIS reporting and quality initiatives. , • Develop, implement, and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. , • Create and manage complex SQL queries and scripts to manipulate data. , • Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity and consistency. , • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI. , • Provide actionable insights on quality improvement initiatives. , • Lead and mentor junior BI engineers and analysts. , • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on data initiatives. Requirements • Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations. , • Experience analyzing data to solve a variety of business problems and create data visualizations. , • Proficiency in understanding healthcare-related data. , • Proficiency in HEDIS measures, Medicaid programs, and healthcare quality improvement. , • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Power BI. , • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership. Nice-to-haves • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience with a focus on healthcare and HEDIS reporting. , • Proven experience with SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing. , • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages. , • Proficiency in database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL). , • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling. , • Proven experience with tools such as Microsoft Power BI for creating data visualizations. , • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
