Senior Audit Manager, Consumer Lending (Hybrid)

About the position The Senior Audit Manager for Consumer Lending at Capital One is responsible for leading audit assignments related to consumer lending, including auto finance and credit cards. This role involves developing and executing audit plans, assessing business risks, and ensuring compliance with organizational and professional ethical standards. The position requires collaboration with various audit teams and offers opportunities for personal and professional growth in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities • Lead audits or significant components of audits. , • Conduct annual planning, risk assessment, and scheduling of the audit universe. , • Develop audit engagement planning documentation and audit programs to ensure adequate coverage of risk. , • Communicate audit scope, issues, risks, and recommendations to management in written reports and oral presentations. , • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key business partners. , • Design and execute internal control testing for audits. , • Effectively communicate audit process scope, protocol, issues, risks, and recommendations to clients during kick-off, periodic status updates, and exit meetings. , • Assess the relevance of audit findings, potential exposures, materiality, and trends. , • Manage timely and quality delivery of audit work and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines. , • Supervise and coordinate work assignments among audit team members. , • Provide timely feedback and coaching to audit staff. , • Demonstrate flexibility in responding to changes in assignment and job responsibility. , • Leverage specialized knowledge and skills to provide management with insights. , • Monitor industry trends, external events, and internal developments to ensure continuous coverage of emerging risks. , • Leverage available data and analytical tools during the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of audit delivery. , • Provide direct people leadership and development of junior associates. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree or military experience. , • At least 7 years of experience in auditing, risk management, compliance, or a combination. , • At least 5 years of experience in leading audits and performing in the role of auditor-in-charge. , • At least 1 year of people management experience. Nice-to-haves • Master's Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Information Systems, or MBA. , • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). , • 5+ years of experience in Banking or the financial services industry. , • 4+ years of experience performing data analysis in support of internal auditing.
