Test Engineer (Software Quality Assurance)- 100% Remote

Position: Test Engineer (Software Quality Assurance) Location: DMV Area Work Schedule: 100% Remote Clearance: VA Public Trust (Tier2 or Tier4) Citizenship: US Citizen The Quality Assurance Tester ensures software quality through manual and automated testing, working with teams to develop test plans, coordinate testing events, and report issues. This role involves managing defect tracking, configuring test environments, and verifying product functionality across IT systems to ensure reliable performance. Responsibilities: • System Analysis & Test Planning: Review system specifications and collaborate with Business Analysts and Test Engineers to develop robust test plans and strategies. • Test Execution & Documentation: Execute manual and automated test cases, analyze results, and document findings in detailed logs. • Defect Management: Report bugs to development teams and oversee the defect database, managing its lifecycle under the guidance of senior engineers. • Troubleshooting & Post-Release Testing: Assist in troubleshooting, conduct post-release testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality. • Resource Management: Define and manage multiple test events, configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical field, or 8 years of relevant experience in software quality assurance. • Proven experience as a QA Tester, ideally with ServiceNow. • Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., ServiceNow Test Management, Automated Test Framework). • Strong project management and QA methodology background. • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus. • Excellent communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with CMMI Maturity Level 3, ISO 9001:2015/2001, ITIL. • Federal Government or VA experience is advantageous. • Knowledge of 508 compliance testing. • Automated testing experience with software and methodologies.
