Business Development Underwriter (Must live in Massachusetts)

About the Role: As Business Development Underwriter, your responsibilities will include managing an assigned underwriting territory to achieve profitable growth. This involves underwriting new business, handling renewals, endorsements, and other transactions. Your role will also entail identifying new business opportunities and effectively managing agency relationships. The Ideal Candidate: • Demonstrated success in commercial lines property & casualty insurance. • 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience. • Experienced in Excess & Surplus, General Liability, and Property underwriting. • Prior experience collaborating with independent agents is preferred. • Proficient in basic computer programs within a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, and E-mail. • Skilled in using online underwriting tools in a paperless setting, such as SAGE, Silver Plume, and Reference Connect, is an advantage. • Preferably has advanced professional insurance coursework (e.g., CPCU, ASLI, and AU) or has completed other insurance-related classes.
