Case Management RN- Oncology Coverage

About the position The Case Management RN in Oncology at Nebraska Medicine plays a crucial role in providing patient education, scheduling, and triaging patient messages and phone calls. This position involves coverage across three cancer clinic locations and requires collaboration with physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) to ensure high-quality patient care. The role is full-time, primarily during the day shift, with one day per week designated for remote work. Responsibilities • Provide patient education and support in oncology care. , • Schedule appointments and manage patient triage for messages and phone calls. , • Cover various oncology specialties while primary case managers are unavailable. , • Collaborate with physicians and APPs to ensure effective patient care delivery. , • Manage a system of patient care delivery for designated patients to achieve quality outcomes. Requirements • Minimum of three years nursing experience required. , • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required. , • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or a compact state license required. , • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from an AHA endorsed program. , • Effective verbal and written communication skills required. , • Ability to prioritize and make independent clinical judgments required. , • Experience with basic patient care equipment and policy manuals required. , • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team required. , • Effective critical thinking and analytical skills required. Nice-to-haves • Prior nursing experience in oncology or related fields preferred. , • Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred. , • Knowledge of healthcare financial environment and reimbursement systems preferred. , • Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred. , • Experience leading or supervising a team preferred. , • Certification in areas such as ACLS, OCN, or TNCC preferred.
