Program Chair, Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and Director, Clinical Education
Description Franklin University, located in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full-time 12-month, Program Chair for its Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program and Director of Clinical Education. Responsibilities include: course development; teaching; administrative oversight of courses; hiring, mentoring and managing adjunct faculty; promoting teaching effectiveness; networking and participation in the professional community; and University service/committee work. Faculty members work in collaboration with instructional designers, practitioners in the field, our in-house multimedia group and peers to create adult-centered active-learning courses. As the Director of Clinical Education, you will collaborate with faculty, staff, preceptors, and clinical sites to deliver a seamless and enriching clinical education experience for our students, while also initiating and facilitating the ongoing development and expansion of clinical education sites. Candidates will have the flexibility of a hybrid or remote work schedule, with the expectation of being onsite as necessary. This position requires candidates to possess a terminal degree in Nursing/Nursing Science or related field: PhD, DNP or DNSc. Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner is required and board certification must be maintained. The successful candidate must possess a current, unencumbered RN and NP license in the US. In addition, the candidate must possess at least four years of practical experience in a wide variety of areas within the discipline, including practice as a NP. The successful candidate must maintain current licensure and all certifications for duration of employment. Candidates must have demonstrated success in teaching and learning and have at least two years of prior teaching experience. Experience with online instruction and course development is preferred.
