Long Term Hourly SEO Strategist to work with Agency - Fully Remote

We are looking for a long-term hourly partner to help us with our agency client work. We think there will be around 5-10 hours per week of work to start, although this will fluctuate and there will be some flexibility for you to adjust deadlines. There is definitely room for expanding this role in the future, especially if you have other technical or digital marketing skills. I know that applying for jobs is soul-crushing, so I will try to give as much information as possible on what we are looking for: • Strong English Writing skills: Comfortable producing professional-level reports and analysis. We don't mean super formal, we mean intelligent, clear and logical. • Agency/Strategy Experience: We are looking for really polished, strategic deliverables here, not just the output of SEMRush/Ahrefs. The deliverables will be recommendations/priorities/explanations/reasoning that go beyond just software-generated reports and keyword lists. If you are used to just doing local SEO/backlinking/keywords, this is not a good match. We need you to be comfortable using reasoning and explaining that reasoning in writing. • Reliable/Good Communication: We understand that you have other work and may need time to turn tasks around, but we expect an estimate of when things will be done and for them to either be done or to be notified as early as possible if the tasks won't be done on time. In general, we are looking for someone to: • Perform audits on the search performance of existing websites and make thoughtful, reasoned recommendations for improvements. • Plan the SEO strategies for new websites and website redesigns. This includes creating targeted keyword lists and helping optimize content for search. Again, we are looking for a thorough analysis with context. • Perform ongoing SEO work on existing websites. This includes monitoring performance, making recommendations for optimization to existing content, and suggesting new content that can help fill gaps. • Prepare ongoing reports on SEO performance for existing clients that summarize current trends and provide actionable insights for improvements. Hourly rate - Indeed makes us put a range, but this depends completely on your experience. Note that if you don't have a lot of experience but put the top end of the hourly rate, someone will more experience will ask for the same rate and get the job. If you ask for an hourly rate that makes sense with your experience, your combination of cost/quality might beat out more experienced candidates. We notice about half of candidates put the top end of our range. We understand that more money is better, but putting a rate that makes sense for your experience makes it more likely that you'll get hired in the first place. 3.
