The role of the Design Strategy & Concept team within the Home OBPDP organization is to provide both the strategy and inspirational direction necessary to both the assortment and design process within the Home Pyramid. The ideal candidate has a passion for Home design, a keen eye for identifying market trends, and is able to craft and articulate visual brand stories that clearly tie back to high level strategies. Role Responsibilities: • Support the team in researching, identifying and synthesizing industry and product trends in home. • Gather and analyze consumer feedback, sales data and market research to help identify market gaps and opportunities across key brands and categories. • Collaborate with senior designers and designers to define seasonal design strategies, ensuring alignment with market and business needs. • Assist in seasonal concept development, contributing to the ideation, research and development of concepts that align with Owned Brand design vision. • Work across category design teams in order to support product development execution. • Assist with presentations and communications including trend boards, strategic documents and communication design shared with both internal team and pyramid leadership. leadership. About You: • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Fashion, Interior Design, Marketing, Fine Art) or equivalent experience. • 0-2 years of experience in trend research, design, or product development with a focus on home decor or related industries. • Passion for Home Design: Strong interest in emerging trends, design strategies, and consumer behavior in the home category. • Design Tools: Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign; knowledge of emerging AI tools and 3D software is a plus. • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate ideas, both visually and verbally, to teams and leadership. • Collaborative Mindset: Comfortable working across teams and learning from senior designers and cross-functional partners. • Detail-Oriented: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while supporting long-term design strategies. • Creative & Analytical: A combination of creativity and analytical thinking to develop innovative design strategies that align with market trends. • Eager to Learn: Willingness to take on new challenges, adapt to fast-changing trends, and continuously grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
