Digitization Specialist Part-Time Remote Jobs - Work From Home

LAC Federal is seeking a Digitization Specialist to support quality control and metadata curation for seismograms and other earthquake-related documents. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate digitization and cataloging of these unique and invaluable materials. Whether you're a seasoned professional in metadata creation or a detail-oriented individual with experience in digitization, we welcome your expertise. While knowledge of earth sciences—especially seismology—is preferred, it's not a requirement for success in this role. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, offering flexible remote work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

Image Quality Control: Review scanned images (e.g., seismograms) for completeness, clarity, accuracy, and readability. Metadata Management: Validate the accuracy of existing metadata and update or create additional metadata fields as needed. Collaboration: Work closely with a team of digitization specialists to ensure all materials meet quality standards.

Qualifications

Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in earth sciences or related field preferred but not required. Technical Skills: Experience with digitization processes and quality control for print and photographic materials. Proficiency with metadata creation, editing, and revision. Familiarity with Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Knowledge: Experience working with scientific research materials, particularly in earth sciences, geology, or seismology, is a plus. Professional Traits: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to focus for extended periods. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
